Those unwritten tenets - the self-enforced rules and rituals guiding hunter's actions and behaviors, some of them as old as hunting itself - define what it means to be a hunter. ![]() The importance of this cannot be overstated or overvalued. But many of hunting's rules - the most important, valuable and telling ones - are unwritten, enforced only through voluntary social, cultural and individual personal contracts.
